2012 World Book Day

Uh, oh, it's that time again!! World Book Day this year was Thursday 1st March so that could only mean one thing .......... dressing up time!  I had to try and do better than last year's crocodile, being the school librarian, so I had a scout around the fancy dress stores and this is what I came up with:

I thought I'd be the Tiger Who Came to Tea from the book by Judith Kerr, complete with Tiger cakes, Daddy's beer and a large tin of Tiger Food just in case I was peckish!!   Judging by the photo I think this Tiger has been to one too many teas, don't you?  Slimming World, here I come!!!

It's that time of the year again when I have to bite the bullet and fish out a costume for World Book Day.  Being our school Librarian I just have to go in something good so.... this is this year's effort!  My gorgeous daughter just happened to have a crocodile suit (like you do) so here is:

The Enormous Crocodile (literally) - a great story for kids and grown-ups too!  Good job I've been trying to stick to my diet!  Now.... what shall I go as next year?!!!

Guess Who?

Hi all, it's that time of the year again, yes, World Book Day 2010. Doesn't seem a year since I was doing this last time. Well have you guessed yet - it involves chocolate!! I thought as I had a purple jacket and it meant I could have chocolate that I'd go as .... Willy Wonka .... this year! Quite easy to put together, hat, cane and sunglasses and a waistcoat from ebay for 99p (what a bargain, it's covered with pearls and beads!!) Anyway here I am in the staffroom at the start of the day when I had a 'whole' bar of chocolate (it got shared out at the end of the day with the kids!!) A great day though, all the staff dressed up again this year and the variety of kids costumes were amazing. Only sorry that I can't really put them on here. Now... ideas for next year anyone?!!! :)

Harry Potter Eat Your Heart Out!!

In honour of World Book Day my school had a fancy dress day today. The theme was to dress up as your favourite character from a book! Well as I'm a big Harry Potter fan (in more ways than one) I thought this would be fairly simple! What do you think? Seeing the photos though, there's one thing I would do if my wand was real and that would be to 'expelliamus' a few of those chins!!! lol
