Less is More - Challenge - Spring

Here's my card for this week's Less is More challenge.  I've used my stamps from Sheena Douglass again.  This is a lovely stamp sheet with both daisies and poppies on it.  This time I've used my distress inks to colour the daisies and glossy accents on the centres.  I used an embossing board (Majestic) by the Glitter Girls to emboss the shape and stamped into it. I've added a diecut 'Spring'.  I'm not too sure about this but I didn't have a stamp.  I tried writing it with a black pen but my handwriting isn't that good and I wanted it to be flourishy to match the sentiment.  In the end I gave up and I went for a blocky diecut for contrast instead!

  1. There's rather a lot going on on this card Sue. I think that the daisies and the sentiment or the daisies and the 'Spring' would probably have been enough, the eye can be confused by too many elements and not know where to look.
It doesn't have to say Spring to imply it. I would love it if you could do one with just the daisies and the sentiment... no gems, no embossing, no Spring. I think you would be surprised how superb it would look!
I'm delighted that you have joined us again and we'll look forward to seeing you next week!

  5. I think this is a lovely card!! The daisy image is very strong and striking. The senitment is super. And I think that you could have done without the word "spring". I'd love to see it as Chrissie suggests. Hope this helps.

  6. Hi RAchaekl
The Spring for me is slightly too heavy with the delicacy of the daisies, I have that stamp they are fabulous!
The loose head too detracts from the simplicity
Maybe you want to have another play as you didn;t seem overly happy with your design
Thanks so much for taking part, do hope to see you again
