Matt's Birthday Card!

Here is another bespoke card which I made for our son's birthday this month. He's a Nike trainer fanatic ( like girls and shoes!!). I printed out some images from the web - he had a pair of the pink ones (cost him £200 as they're vintage ones!! His Dad and I were not impressed, especially when he wore them out round town!!) I made the backing paper from the Nike swoosh. The card is a 3D reveal card, a template I got from here. I love Kim's templates and enjoy making cards that are that little bit different!

Milk Carton!

I made this from a piece of A3 card from a template adapted from Mirkwood Designs. I wanted to make a little something for my Sister in Law who is having some health problems. I filled it with little miniature toiletries from Boots! The flowers are a Marianne Creatable die - Flowers 1. I stamped the card with a set of unmounted stamps from The Stampman (Double Delights) and coloured them with Promarkers before I covered them with the die cut flowers. I made a tag and attached it with ribbons.

60th Birthday Dad!

This is another commission, a large A4 card for a colleague's Father's birthday. I was told that he likes guitars and plays bass guitar in a group. I tried to make this with a vintage feel. The word Dad is in maroon with a gold shadow - using the Gypsy font which came installed on the Gypsy.

A4 Birthday - Cliff!

This is a commision for work - a large A4 card for a colleague's birthday. She loves Cliff so I used a photo for the decoupage and the background. I used the Cricut to cut out the words - they are in silver so don't show that much on the photo. It says 'Cliff says happy 60th birthday Janice.' I love making 'bespoke' cards for people rather than gereral ones.

My First Cricut Card - My SIL's Birthday.

I used the Cricut to cut out the birds from the 'Songbird' cartridge, Sister is from the 'Stone Script' cartridge, flowers from Prima and a border punch and butterfly from Martha Stewart. Gold greeting fro Craftwork cards, ribbons and pearls finish it off. I was really pleased with this for a first attempt, the diecuts are so cute on this cartridge.

I've had a baby!!

Well, two really...........but not exactly!! On Tuesday I became the proud owner of a Cricut Create and a Gypsy!! I'm having so much fun playing that I've not been on here - or anywhere else in fact. I'm just trying to get to grips with the ins and outs. I think I've almost mastered shadows on welded words, I've even bought two new cartridges since I've had it as well!! I'd like to get Sure Cuts A Lot - the computer program to go with it but am going to get a new computer first - there's still plenty to learn about it at the moment!

I've used it on the next three cards, what do you think?

Sympathy.

I made this card last night for my daughter's boss who has sadly lost her husband after a two year battle against cancer. He has left a 4 year old daughter, how sad is that. I felt so sad making it. I wanted to keep it fairly simple and love the effect of the Spellbinders Pendant Cross die. The flowers are made using the new set of Nellie Snellen punch and emboss punches which I got at the NEC. Aren't they great? I made the whole thing out of pearlescent card.

Foxy Interlude!

We haven't seen any of the garden foxes since November last year until this week when one of them appeared twice in the garden. It seems to be suffering from a bad case of mange although it looks like some hair is growing back. I have got some homeopathic treatment from a pharmacy recommended by 'The Fox Project'. I got it before Xmas but the foxes disappeared!! I have to leave out honey sandwiches at night with the drops on but so far they've been eaten by the pigeons!! I really hope that it will help our little friend!

Simple Easter cards!

This was my feeble effort for Easter. I made four cards, two others with a different pb stamp but I forgot to photograph them!! This one was simply made and coloured with Promarkers, the flower is my new Marianne Creatable flower die No 1. I'm looking forward to using it more often.

50th Wedding Anniversary.

Card in the box.

This one was made as a request from my daughter's friend. She gave it to her boyfriend's grandparents. She told me afterwards that they had it out next to the cake at the party and it was the only one they put out when they got home. So glad it went down well. The design was from the Romance board (Glitter Girls) and the flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Time for some cards!

It's been so long since I've been here and I haven't made that many cards either lately!! I'm on Easter break from school this week and next and am determined to have a craft day. Trouble is I have a 'to do' job list as long as both my arms and I've had a week off so far and hardly done anything. The idea was to do my jobs this week and then craft next but I've not done either yet!! It's been beautiful weather, have done some washing and 'one' of the ironing piles so far. I had two piles of ironing, I just hate it so when one pile started falling over I started a new one - dreadful eh!! lol. Have managed to make a couple or so cards, though, so am putting them on here.

The first is a large card I made for a lad at work for everyone to sign - he was 18 but I photographed it before I'd put the number on! The image is from Crafty Computer Paper's Men's Card Kits cd. I made it into a penny slider card.
